Christmas

Christmas! I love it; and no. When I think about the meaning of Christmas I remember the history that I have read about it. I remember the Christian meaning of this celebration and the important for a lot of people. I think in the Sun celebration by the old time people. But principally I think in the hope message for the people by God, expressed in the born of Jesus. The message of love, faith and humanitarianism. And this makes me sad. When I remember the big quantity of hunger people in the world, the lot of poor that we can see near to us, in our city streets. Well, Christmas it’s a time to reflection and to dream that a better world can be possible.

I think the Christmas tree it’s important because is the symbol of the celebration. Obviously this don’t remember to us the Christian message but in the contemporary this is the symbol, the “flag” of Christmas; and principal the children dream all the year for the time when the trees will appear. I think that the manger is better, but I think not all the people it’s Christian too; and I think the message for love It’s for all the world, not only for Christianity.

I like Christmas a lot, I enjoy it. I know many people don’t enjoy it; I Think this can be for religious believes and some doctrines; other because only take the negative side by Christmas or because they think this it’s a commercial party. I think it too, I think that Christmas are a commercial celebration, but not principally; we must remember Christmas was celebrated before the modern capitalism and all the commercial system has been created. And you can have a nice Christmas without presents and without expensive material things. You can be ok if you past a good time with the people that you love.

If I could, I’d do all the people that go crazy buying material things, turn off this rhythm and take other way, to past the time with the people and don’t spending much money, because the money don’t make happy.

Pets

Pets! what a word! I must admit that I haven't got any pet. And probably you are thinking that I'm a bad man. But no, and this, obviously, isn't the answer. In the past I had pets, a lot of pets. At this moment I can remember many dogs, cats, hamsters, fish, birds. When I was a child I liked animals a lot, and I did a close relation with them. I remember how was my last hamster: It was small and furry (hahahah), and its hair was light brown, like its eyes. We played every day in the grass and in my bed. We were happy. Well, I'm happy today when I remember that. I think people have pets because with its you can have a very good times, and you can be happy with its. When you do a relation with tour pet, you can trust in it because the animals are not unstables; you can be secure by any bad surprise. I think the specie that you choose to be your "friend" isn't very important; while you can play and do a lot of things that are important for you, you are ok, you can live this beautifull experience.

When the people say the pet lovers live longer, I'm agree with this. I think this because the people with pet are happy and make a good relation with it. This people learn to love (a pet, but it is love too) and live a very good experiences and this will do to this people to be ok.

Faculty Facilities

Hello Everybody. Today i am going to talk you about my faculty, the law school of the Universidad de Chile. Specially I like to talk about the facilities in the faculty. Contemporany in the law school we have a big problem with the seats, the old desk for the students in the Old building. The problem is this things are in disrepair. Many of this don’t have a table in which we can support our notebooks. In others there are not a place to sit down, or in others the chairs go bad when you move a little. Other thing in the faculty could be better is the state of the restrooms. We like restrooms with tap in well functioning; that when you tap on, you don’t not get wet your self, your clothe. Also that when you stay in the restroom, you don’t wet your shoes whith the wet floor.
I think this things are the principal in problems at law school. Also can be the air condition. And I thing the first step to resolve it’s the begin by the sanitary problems: this are the restrooms infrastructure and the urgently existance of a first help room (nursing) for take care by the health of all the people in the faculty. I think this is the worst thing and the most dangerous; I can’t imagine how a public place, in which a lot of people make their journal activities, hasn't a place like this, needed in my opinion in all places with this caracteristics.
I believ,e this situation can be resolve in a few time if the authorities take an active position for the change. I expect this can be better before this age go out.

A country I'd like to visit

Hi everybody! Today i’m going to write the first post for the second semester of my English class. At this time I will talk about a country that I’d like to visit. The country that I have got in my mind right now is Syria. I’d like to visit Syria because I think this is an interesting place where you can find a lot of culture. I know Syrian people live in peace despite the different religious groups living there. I’m talking about jews, christians and muslims. I like to go there for recreation time, for stay there only for pleasure. I’d like to go and visit Damasco city; It is the OLDEST city in the world inhabited today. And I’d like to go to Petra; this is a ruins city very interesting, built in the walls of a cannon, in the middle of de Syrian desert and was nominated for the new seven marvels of the world. I know that when you stay in Syria, you can travel to the closes countries to visit other places very important and famous from the Middle East. I think that I could learn a lot of the peaceful coexistence, learn a lot of culture, past a very good time, eat very well and a lot of many things that from Chile I can’t imagine.

System Education Review

This day I will write about Sir Ken Robinson and him idea of education. This man (a great man) at TED's Talk showed to the public the problem of the education in all countries. He said the education system has a hierarchical structure in which math and letters are in the top and the arts are in the base. This situation is because our education system was created in the industrial revolution and the subjects since then have been used for the industrial works needs. The problem, He said, it’s that we are killing the children’s (and all people's) creativity with this. We are making the people will be afraid to do mistakes so they’ll don’t try to invent new kinds or ways to repair the mistakes. This is creativity.

I think that Sir Ken Robinson has a good viewpoint. I’m agree whith him because I think the education system It’s killing the creativity and It’s making people only for industrial works. Unfortunately arts and other expressions of the culture (and other things very important for our culture) are being neglected for our education system; and I think this is bad. I think this because I feel that we can’t live without music, arts, dance, beauty, designs, and many things that makes our lives are complete.

We need a change; we need to leave this education system, this killer of creativity. We must prepare our children to be good (and as possible the best) for the discipline that they will want to do. Only with this we may get a better society and a better future for all of us.

A photo

Today I'll tell you about a photo. This "photo" was found by me when I was looking my city "from the space". Maybe you are thinking I'm a crazy man, but I'm going to explain you the reason. Around two months, in any day, when I was in my house, I had been using "google earth" the computer software. When I was looking at my neighborhood I saw a shape, a little icon in the image; then I click it, and a new window was openened. In this new window I saw "the photo".

After this, at the next day I learnt more about google earth and I click the photo in the window, then a browser was opened in my computer; I was found a new website where anybody can upload images and photos.

This image was upload by André Bonacin to "Panoramio". In the image you can see my neighborhood. I love it, and I love the detail of this. It's a good work, a very good photo.

About my career

Now i'm going to tell you about my career. I'm studying law at school law in Universidad de Chile. I study law because I love it. Yes, I love it.

One of the things by law career that I love is about the large number of sites where a lawyer can perform. We can work in public services, politics, social science, private work, enterprises and also we can work in a court or in many other sites. I think the lawyers are a very important part in the modern societies.

I think the lawyers will need -and need today and always- reliable information about the environment and the society. I think the field of law must give to the students good tools, for example good information about the past and present; also should try to advanced, the lawyers should be ahead of the social changes and should be ahead of the social problems, etc.

Returning to my views by law career, I tell you about my favourites subjects. I like Teoría Social, It's an interesting subject, we talk in it about diferent kinds and social models. Contabilidad I like it too, in this we learn about the balance sheets, accounts and the financial statements by enterprises and companies. And also I will tell you about my English class: this it's amazing, the teacher it's the better, she is a helper always really and the English language it's amazing too. I love English, so I'm very happy when I'm in my English Class.

La Editorial Virtual

Today i'm going to talk you about a website that I use for my law studies and at the same time I yhink this website is a lot important and usefull for many people that study any career. The website by I talk It's "La Editorial Virtual": http://www.laeditorialvirtual.com.ar/. This website deals about books, but not any kind of book or pieces of books, this website, La Editorial Virtual deals about informatic editions by free rights or authorized free distribution books. I love this website because i like to read books in front of my computer, and I love above all that the text are free; you don't need money to read the books, i like it a lot. I remember how I Found it: around one month ago I was lookin for the book "The Prince" by Nicolás Maquiavelo (in spanish version -El Príncipe- obviusly) and my search with "google" put me in the correct site :D

I was very happy when I found it and I toke it to my favorites webpages in my browser inmediatly. I remember that I was happy because this book was very usefull for my Politic Science class and for Social Theory class. From that moment I have gonne to this website when i need a book to read. I think this will be very important think for the rest of my law career.

My favorite piece of technology

Today I'm going to tell you about my mp4. It is small, is black, has many buttons and a TV screen (small too). It is an electronic tool; Its useful to put in store a lot of computers archives and my favorite mp4's function: multimedia files (also play this files). I bought it around one month ago; was an internet shopping. I use it everyday, always when i'm in the bus or subway. I like it a lot because it don't use external batteries, it use an internal battery that charge when I put it in a conection between it and any computer trough a cable. But definitively I love it because I haven't slept anymore in the journey. Also I use it to keep my computer files, my University works, homeworks and other things that I need for my education. And finally I think if I'll loose it..... I will be so sad (and sleepy hahahahaha).

My name is Leandro Correa, but I preffer you call me Leo (i think it is easy to remember than my real name, and i like it too), I'm nineteen and I'm studying law career at University of Chile. I was born here, in Santiago of Chile and I have been living in this city all my life. I live in a house at the "west side" of the city with my family, I'm the "younger". I like read news and different opinions about the same business. I love walk around the city, most through interesting neighborhoods. I hate the poor quality air and also I hate that we, the citizien can not see the Andes everyday. My university experience have been wonderful; I have Known friendly guys and we are going well. OK, I think this is too much for the first time so.......GOOD BYE...!
